    Inter-organizational negotiation of web-services

    Get PDF
The web service technology allows organizations to interact through business processes. \ud However, organizations involved in cooperative business processes have different interests \ud and points of view. A negotiation allows them to discuss their interests and requirements in \ud order to reach an acceptable agreement. We propose an integrated web service negotiation \ud process that takes into account human interaction and the use of different negotiation \ud protocols. It focuses on the application of feature modelling to describe the negotiated \ud services. Our contributions include: (i) the definition of a negotiation process; (ii) the \ud definition of a conceptual model to support the negotiation of web services; (iii) reuse of \ud artefacts generated throughout the negotiation process; (iv) coverage of critical elements in \ud the negotiation of electronic contracts, such as role, properties of electronic services and \ud contract models; and (v) exploration of the process in different application scenario

A Framework Supporting Integrated Transaction and Session Management for Cooperative Applications

    No full text
This report presents a framework of integrated transaction and session management to meet the requirements of applications based on group work. Transaction management is provided in order to guarantee data consistency and recovery from failures with the additional benefit of structuring complex applications as nested transactions. Visibility between users is achieved by allowing unfinished work to be transferred between users or by establishing a synchronous session. Within a session users can update shared objects in turns and be notified of others' actions synchronously

E-contracting with price configuration for web services and QoS

The large amount of information in electronic contracts hampers their establishment due to high complexity. An approach inspired in Software Product Line (PL) and based on feature modelling was proposed to make this process more systematic through information reuse and structuring. By assessing the feature-based approach in relation to a proposed set of requirements, it was showed that the approach does not allow the price of services and of Quality of Services (QoS) attributes to be considered in the negotiation and included in the electronic contract. Thus, this paper also presents an extension of such approach in which prices and price types associated to Web services and QoS levels are applied. An extended toolkit prototype is also presented as well as an experiment example of the proposed approach64357384FUNDAÇÃO DE AMPARO À PESQUISA DO ESTADO DE SÃO PAULO - FAPESPSem informaçã

Tecnologias de Internet em uma plataforma de colaboração para a pesquisa médica

    No full text
Web technologies have changed software development. The changes affect a full range of applications as well as the way users interact with computers. In the health domain, clinical research demands a lot of investment, effort and information in order to safely commercialize a new drug. The WebInVivo project aims at providing automated support for clinical research based on Web technologies. It includes mechanisms for sharing and reusing clinical trial information, such as protocols, protocol data, workflows and workflow metadata and for controlling the protocol life cycle, from modeling to execution. In this project, knowledge from the biomedical area permeates three segments of Brazilian society: (a) research and development, (b) health agents, and (c) the population. This knowledge will be made available through social networks for these segments of Brazilian society.
